How To Use An Online Indicator? You may want to add an Online Indicator to your website, forum signatures or e-mail messages. In general, you can add an indicator in similar way like you would add an image. Each application has its own method to do it. Indicator URL (Standard)The key is to use a special URL (URL = a web address) that fetches an indicator image from our server. The format of an indicator URL is http://online.vatsimindicators.net/Your VATSIM ID/Indicator ID.png. Use our Indicator Library to find an indicator for your needs. Each indicator has an ID number normally mentioned in front of its name. Put an indicator ID and your VATSIM ID to the right places to the URL above and you have a link to your personal VATSIM Indicator. In the library there is also an URL generator that creates the URL directly after you have entered your VATSIM ID. You can test the URL easily. Enter it to your default web browser and you should see your indicator on it. Does it have the correct information? Placing the URL to the forum/website/...OK, now you have an indicator URL with a design of your preference and the correct VATSIM ID. Now you can add the indicator to your preferred place as any web image. I have given a few examples here, but please refer to the user's manual of the forum software or website builder for more detailed information. Replace *URL* with the actual Indicator URL in following examples. To add the indicator to your website, use a normal HTML image tag: Most of the forum softwares don't accept direct HTML tags. Try
to enclose the URL with [img]-tags: Do I Have to Register? If you just want to use the indicators, no. Anyone can add an indicator to their website or forums with the instructions above, without registration. If you want to create an indicator with your own design,s a registration is needed.
