Pregnancy is a magical time. You have a new being growing inside you and the feeling cannot be explained. Every day is closer to your delivery and you cannot wait to hold your new bundle of joy in your arms. Well, as much as this is a great time for every family, you should also take care not to lose it. Just to ensure to get uneventful nine months, here are things that you should not do if you are pregnant:
Say no to alcohol
There is a divided opinion on whether you should take alcohol during your pregnancy. A glass of wine is okay but getting indulged into alcohol is bad for your pregnancy. The most known risk is gaining too much weight and development problems in your unborn child. The best thing is to stay free from alcohol altogether.
Do not be obsessed with bed rest
There is a tendency among pregnant women to take their bed as a comfort zone and spend hours just lying over there. Yes, you need the rest but not too much of it. Bed rest will harm you and your child. You need to move around to keep your blood flowing to all your body parts. It does not mean you have to be physically active but lying on your bed all day does not help you with anything.
It is not the right time to travel
Just say no to travel invitations however tempting they may be. You will have to pack, then pack and go around packing what you may have forgotten. In public transport you will be a bother to other travelers, hotels will make you sick. Jet lag and all the other health risks you are exposing yourself to are not worth it. Stay at home and you will have plenty of time to travel.
Do not smoke
If you do smoke, it is time to kill that habit once you are pregnant. It is a step towards good health and wellness for you and your baby. Smoking can have grave consequences such as stillbirth. If you have
to smoke, wait until your child is born and grown.
It is no time to get a new pet
You might love to bring a puppy home, but this is not the time. You are pregnant and training your pet is not in your schedule. You do not have much time to pay attention to your pet. It is not fair to your pet and it is not even fair to you.
Put a stop to the caffeine mug
Coffee may seem as harmless to your pregnancy. It is not. Coffee and any other beverages in the caffeine family are not recommended during your pregnancy. Caffeine increases the length of your pregnancy period and adversely affects your baby’s weight.
Want to keep your pregnancy healthy all the waiting period? Avoid these things and you will sail through and have your baby in perfect health. There is nothing that will make you happy like going it all the nine months without a single thing to complain about.
